OUTSTANDING

A brilliant fantasy novel!
Stone MaidenMuir was a slave in her household and unrealising her potential for more til she meets a eefreeti(a older different race) and saves his life even though she knew she would be punished badly for staying so long from the household. She brings him back with her and the town wants to burn her because of supersticious advise about eefreeti's. The efreeti saves her from burning by annilating everyone in the town to dust. She binds her service with him since the only life she knew was servitude and better to be bound than alone. She helps him on his quest to learn how to stop his people from dying out and she learns about her powers along the way while making friends as well and learning that destiny has had her hand on her fate and honesty and dignity that through it all has kept her debts payed even at the end when she must leave the child that she helped create.
Fantasy? More like lucid dreaming...

One of the most powerful war novels i ever readThis book is one of the powerful, poignant books I have ever read about wars (and I've read a great deal). It tackles the deeper issues of violence -- how does the soul feel when confronted with violence, mindless violence, on a daily basis? how do people react? what happens to one's sensitivity? one's ability for honest laughter? one's interactions with others?
Hoda Barakat delves into those issues - and does so courageously and poetically. She also presents them through the eyes of a homosexual man. Quite powerful!.
Highly recommended - to Lebanese, to Arabs, and to all people interested in examining the effects of war and violence on every-day people.

Stonehenge (digging for the past) & Valley of the Kings book-crisp, clear, appealing layout
-inclusion of maps with modern cities and related sites
-timeline, glossary and index
-photos and drawings have clear informational captions
-interesting aspects of the topic are explained on full-page "asides"
-use of words like "probably" and "one theory" to explore how our understanding of these ancient sites changes as archeologists discover more
-the mixture of the historical and legendary with the technical and physical information
-interviews with the archeologists, which personalizes the subject and makes it real and possible for students
Stonehenge DemystifiedMs. Bernard answers the Who, Why and When about the constuction of Stonehenge. Anyone interested in archeolgy and problem-solving will devour this book.
I am looking foward to more Digging in the Past Serries.
Fact is more interesting than fiction

One of the best plays I've ever seenThis is one of the funniest plays I've seen/read since Noises Off. Although it takes some imagination when reading the text, one can easily see how utterly comic and tragic the production is. I love this play because it allows actors to stretch, because it doesn't rely on big sets and fancy costumes to engage the audience, and because it's funny as hell. A good read, and a definite must-see.
Excellent play
Poignantly truthful hilarity

Put your back against the wall & get ready for a scary ride!
Amazing!
As far as I can remember...

A must read book

Awesome

A great guide book
Great for beginners and some experience stone workersAlso more photos, in color, of good work verses bad work would help beginners like me visualize what my goal should be. I feel I wasted time doing and undoing my stonework.
However, this is still a book for any stoneworker's library.
Excellent primer for confident home-improvers
We lived across the street. I miss it too! I was a tight nieghborhood back then. I stumbled across this book by accident and loved it Very well done.
